Reflective Essay Preparation 5: Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. I turned sixteen, and I had a wonderful day. My Sweet Sixteen was at Pump it Up. Normally they host birthday parties for younger children, but I thought it would be fun for me. I know at the typical sixteenth birthday party there is a DJ, catered food, and pretty dresses. At mine there was karaoke, pizza, and seven different inflatables. Sometimes it seems to me like people are competing to see whose party is more over the top. If you ask me, I think that is just silly. I went to semi-formal sweet sixteens and they were all fun, but some of them were more like wedding receptions. This contributes to my character because I had just as much fun (actually more fun) at my party as I did at all the other ones I went to. It shows that bigger is not always better.

Reflective Essay Preparation 4: CHOP visit 1

This week I had an appointment at CHOP to see if there was any neurological reason for why I don't walk straight. I know that when somethings wrong you shouldn't search your symptoms and now I know why. I scared myself so much because I just wanted to know what I have. I had myself convinced of having a number of things that in reality I don't. It turns out that my problem is not neurological so I have to go back to CHOP to see their orthopedic doctor and possibly the muscular neurologist. However this time I am staying off the internet and I am much more calm about my visit. This changes my character because I am a bit of an impatient person and I know that I need to wait. Patience is very important and I will try my best to not rush things.
