Reflective Essay Preparation 4: CHOP visit 1

This week I had an appointment at CHOP to see if there was any neurological reason for why I don't walk straight. I know that when somethings wrong you shouldn't search your symptoms and now I know why. I scared myself so much because I just wanted to know what I have. I had myself convinced of having a number of things that in reality I don't. It turns out that my problem is not neurological so I have to go back to CHOP to see their orthopedic doctor and possibly the muscular neurologist. However this time I am staying off the internet and I am much more calm about my visit. This changes my character because I am a bit of an impatient person and I know that I need to wait. Patience is very important and I will try my best to not rush things.

  1. Hi Shannon,
Patience is a virtue because it is incredibly difficult to cultivate. I try to be a patient person, but I sometimes get anxious in the process. I try to remind myself that, whatever and whenever things happen, it's all for the best.

Concerning your entries, I don't see a post for weeks 2 or 3, yet Dr. Dillon has grades for those weeks. Did you send her a postcard or letter?
